HOME WHAT IS A GICLEE' ABOUT THE ARTIST

Giclee

Pronounced 'Zhee-Clay'. The word is taken from a version of the French word 'la giclée',

meaning 'that which is sprayed or squirted'.

Giclee printing is a type of inkjet printing – but importantly, not all inkjet prints are giclee prints.

Giclee printing is meant to produce a product at a higher quality, higher resolution and with a longer lifespan than a standard desktop inkjet printer.

Giclée printing is a process that uses fade-resistant, pigmented (the same type of pigment used in artist paint) archival inks and archival substrates

(acid free canvas or paper) to print on special large format printers.

Giclée printing is often used by artists to make reproductions of their original two-dimensional artwork, photographs or computer-generated art for

resale while preserving the original.

James Hussey specializes in the highest quality Giclée printing in the industry to create gallery-quality

reproductions of his work. These are considered museum-quality reproductions that will last up to 200 years
.
